British supermodel and business-woman Kate Moss is to add handbag designer to her list of titles, having signed on to create a line of luxury handbags with French leather accessories brand Longchamp.
Moss recently stated in Paris: “We get on well. It’s a fabulous opportunity” when referring to the brand.
Paris Launch
The spring collection made its debut in Paris, where the model hosted an intimate party for 700 people at The Ritz. Guest included musician Jamie Hince, Moss’ fiancé, editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld and Giambattista Valli.
The range will be available., exclusively at Metz&Co., on the department store’s ground floor.
The line will comprise 12 different styles and each one will be named after the model’s favourite areas in London such as Soho, Gloucester, Ladbroke and Goldbourne. A Glastonbury title will also feature, after the annual musical festival. Moss’ collection features more of a harder “rock-chick” edge with rivet and zip detailing.

The Gloucester bag is noted to resemble the Hermès Birkin or Mulberry Bayswater bag in form, whilst the Glastonbury takes on a more casual and soft look with braiding details. The Soho is a more glitzy evening affair in a vibrant green colour, whilst more hard-wearing travel bags also feature. All of the bags feature zebra print, in the lining and as a additional scarf for the handbags and the colours vary from hot pink, black and tan.
Moss has modelled for Longchamp for many years, as well as many other luxury brands such as Roberto Cavalli, Yves Saint Laurent and Burberry.
